Bowman still needed to be recruited this off season

Bill Busch made another trip this past month to Alaska to speak with Bowman's parents to convince him to stay another year at NU. Again, amazing job by Busch keeping and getting the best players to attend NU

shouldn't have been that tough, i wouldn't think. Bowman just started to show some potential, he still has alot to prove before he attempts to get the eye of the pros.

Perhaps, but thats not what the scouts were saying. Mel Kiper had him as his #1 CB for the draft and numerous other places had him in the 1st-2nd round. You may be right and he may not have been ready for the NFL, but if he is healthy enough to run a good 40 time at the combine, he would have been a first rounder. We should be very grateful to coach Busch for doing what he did to insure that Zack came back for another year, we are going to need him.

Bill Busch is the Chuck Norris of recruiting. Period.
He has really done well this year, but Chuck Norris probably wouldn't even have to recruit. They would just come to NU out of fear that if they don't Chuck might scissor kick them repeatedly.

true, but Herian never recovered and performed as he once did. i would think few teams in the NFL would want to take a chance on a guy coming back from such a significant injury. thinking they would like to see this guy play against USC's top receivers and a few others, before i gave him 1st round considration.

A broken leg and a torn ACL are two totally different injuries. It is much easier to get back to 100% with an ACL injury than it is with a broken leg.

we don't know really what went on in the off season or who took an interest in him. at any rate i am sure we will be glad to have him back on the field.

And let's not forget that there are agents out there that are less than, shall we say, professional. There are some that are not above exaggerating a player's worth to the player and his parents - and every kid and every parent wants to hear that kind of talk...

In the comparison of Herian and Bowman, correct me if im wrong but didnt Herian have other complications once he had his surgery for the fracture?

Maybe Cally should hire Chuck Norris as recruiting coordinator then. :)
He' d probably be the best recruiting coordinator that I know of.
