7- A lot of people called for Tom Osborne to be fired more than a couple times. Three National Championships later, it’s a good thing that didn’t happen. Playing for the Redskins in DC, I constantly heard about how the New York fans wanted Tom Coughlin fired. Two Super Bowls wins later, I’m pretty sure they’re glad that didn’t happen. I’m not saying ‪#‎MikeRiley‬ is going to bring us multiple championships. I’m not saying he’s going to win any championships. I’m not even saying he won’t get fired. I’m simply saying, that 6 games is not enough time to try to make that call.

I don't think that's what he meant. We had losses under TO where it appeared we didn't even deserve to be playing on the same field as the opposing team. Bobby Bowden pretty much built back the Florida State program much like the Bobfather did here. Does anyone honestly believe that Florida State would give Jimbo Fisher 22 years to win a NC? Does anyone believe the next Bama coach gets 22 years to win a NC? Things have changed dramatically in the college football landscape in the past four decades. Time is something very few if any coaches receive now.

so true, it's a fact of life, so why would we or should we sit on our nuts and (if this continues) wait more than 3-5 years? unless we see shades of brilliance or huge improvement, Riley should not remain to just prove a point.
