Why is it that Nebraska having to go with its 2nd string QB means 5 horrendous turnovers off of which Purdue scored 28 points? Why is it that missing your best offensive lineman, two solid receivers, the starting RB, the leading tackler (S) and the top CB mean Nebraska can't overcome said point-gifting mistakes?

I mean, who recruited these guys? Injuries are part of the game.

*In fairness, not even Michigan State would have prevailed with the way points were being given to Purdue left and right. Credit Fyfe and the Huskers for fighting back as hard as they could, but between not having enough and continuing to make more mistakes, it was a losing effort.

Coaches are sole accountable for the game plan. You have to be smart as a coach and know your personnel. The best ones do and win.

A year ago Riley was interviewed on a local sports radio show. He was asked to describe how he does his game planning. While other coaches use modern technology and techniques, Riley described sitting by the fire and writing a game plan on paper by hand for the week ahead. It was at that point that it was clear the game has passed him by.

While Chip was looking for any edge, Riley was content to live in the past. Everything he and his staff do are outdated. From the schemes themselves to day to day training.

He was looking for any excuse to leave. I am sure he hoped the talent level at Nebraska would make up for all the flaws in his staff. But, unfortunately the talent level between the top and bottom teams has decreased. Even with that said, there is no excuse to lose to Purdue or Illinois. The best you can hope for with this staff is mediocrity.

I was shocked when he was hired. It still isn't clear what the powers to be at Nebraska were thinking. They clearly didn't do the necessary due diligence or these flaws would have been obvious.

We went down 42-16 thanks to all the turnovers in the passing game, which our terrible defense couldn't handle. We had at least 24 passes by halftime....Fyfe should've been limited to 24 all game. Also losing Newby has nothing to do with it when you have guys like Ozigbo and Wilbon that can run the ball but the coaches ignore.

We were only down 12 points at half, and we had already begun the "abandon the run" philosophy. Fyfe proceeded to throw 2 more picks. We also gave purdue 4 touchdowns on like 50 yards of offense due to interceptions.

We don't commit to running the ball in practice, and it's a detriment to the team. They spend most of their time on the passing attack. Also, why are Ozigbo and Wilbon getting more carries, and why no OL rotation?
