So you were there? No.Right, and how do you know these things? Likely, because somebody told you, and most likely, it was told to them as well.

No, not really. There was zero mention of Riley until he was hired but clearly he was being approached...I think most of us thought SE was talking to coaches about the job.Because specifically mentioned coaches weren't approached? I mean... that's kinda a good reason, right? Why would people not want to believe that we were talking to other coaches about coaching here?So "ego" is the ONLY reason someone would doubt the Bielema-to-Nebraska story?
I did not know that.
I see where you're going with this, but the process to replace Bo started after the Wisconsin game. The time frame is much longer.Sun, Nov 30 - Bo FiredFootballScoop reported that a "multitude" of sources told them Eichorst approached Bielema first.

This was quickly followed by Perlman scoffing at that report in the quote I provided above.
People can choose to believe whatever they want, or whatever suits their worldview. There's a lot of turmoil and one-upsmanship going on between the Roussel brothers.
Mon, Dec 1 - Eichorst flies to SF
Tue, Dec 2 - Eichorst, Perlman, Riley meet in SF. Riley offered job and accepts
Wed, Dec 3 - Eichorst flies back to Lincoln, deal is finalized
Thurs, Dec 4 - Brandt tweet about Burt "being offered yesterday", Football Scoop linked article above, Riley announced by UNL at 11:30am
So if you are to believe that Burt was offered on Wednesday, Dec 3, then why the hell was Eichorst/Perlman in SF negotiating with Riley Tuesday and offering him the job?

For the record, I think that Burt would probably do a good job here. He's and asshat like Bo though, so his act may have worn thin.Furthermore, why is it such a big deal that people don't want to believe that it's possible that we were talking to Bielema about being a coach here? Eichorst has a history with him. He was successful in the Big Ten running the type of schemes that many of our fans think is the right recipe for our situation. There are multiple reports that it was true and the only two people who deny it are the two people who have the most reason to "lie" about it.
Really the only reason to not want to believe this is because of some inflated ego thinking that we absolutely got the first guy on our list and no one would ever turn down the chance to coach here.
And how do you know they weren't approached?Because specifically mentioned coaches weren't approached? I mean... that's kinda a good reason, right? Why would people not want to believe that we were talking to other coaches about coaching here?So "ego" is the ONLY reason someone would doubt the Bielema-to-Nebraska story?
I did not know that.
Bielema's agent is Neil Cornrich. The same guy also advises Eichorst. It's a fact that Bielema's people talked to Ecihorst's people about the job. Even if those "people" are the same person.Because specifically mentioned coaches weren't approached? I mean... that's kinda a good reason, right? Why would people not want to believe that we were talking to other coaches about coaching here?So "ego" is the ONLY reason someone would doubt the Bielema-to-Nebraska story?

I would agree with that, although I don't have any details. I'm just more disproving the Brandt tweet. If Burt was offered on Wednesday, why did Eichorst already offer Riley the job on Tuesday?I see where you're going with this, but the process to replace Bo started after the Wisconsin game. Football scoop, Gil Brandt, and Bruce Feldman (who's arguably one of the best FB journalists out there) all started reporting it on the 3rd.Sun, Nov 30 - Bo FiredFootballScoop reported that a "multitude" of sources told them Eichorst approached Bielema first.

By the way, I wasn't meaning the ego of the person in how they view themselves. I meant the view of the Husker program - that they might think the programs has/carries more clout that it actually does.So "ego" is the ONLY reason someone would doubt the Bielema-to-Nebraska story?
I did not know that.
Where would Gil Brandt have gotten such a story? He has no ties to Nebraska, but he knows Bielema from his Wisconsin days.I would agree with that, although I don't have any details. I'm just more disproving the Brandt tweet. If Burt was offered on Wednesday, why did Eichorst already offer Riley the job on Tuesday?
He has plausible deniability on the Bert offer. But not on the policy change. That was a bold faced lie. This whole thing has spiraled into a lot of things.
But no one can prove that Eichorst LIED about the 2 things that Saunders was saying he lied about. If you choose to not believe him, that's your opinion. That doesn't prove he lied.
Maybe they were all hearing it from Burt's side to get that raise knapp is talking about?Football scoop, Gil Brandt, and Bruce Feldman (who's arguably one of the best FB journalists out there) all started reporting it on the 3rd.Sun, Nov 30 - Bo FiredFootballScoop reported that a "multitude" of sources told them Eichorst approached Bielema first.
