Talent, NU vs. UCLA

i think the difference tomorrow will be the talent in this game........speed and better athletes + Rosen should allow UCLA to cruise to a win, by 21 or more.

then there is the issue of "good Tommie vs. bad Tommie.....that will be a factor as well....but mostly speed will be the issue.

Well, I would suggest UCLA is one of the better recruiting teams in the PAC 12 as they have hundreds of quality D1 players within a short UBER ride of the campus. They should always be loaded with sufficient talent to be top 30 caliber. I am sure they are this year as well. This will be a VERY difficult game and UCLA will be as good as any team we have faced this year, in my view. A win will be a great accomplishment without question. I would estimate our chances of defeating a 9-4 UCLA team in a California bowl game, after this season's disappointments, as about 20%. If we played them 5 times, we would win one. We can easily play them close and win, play close and lose or lose rather badly.

Unfortunately for me, as a die hard Husker, it is hard to say but I am very much afraid the team will lack the will and desire to win. I hope I am way off on this but I just have a feeling, the players are much like the fans and lost interest on some basic level. Certainly, the level of discussion on this board would indicate most fans are not even aware of the game or when or who or whatever. This is a very disturbing trend that has been building for a number of years. Ticket sales, travel sales, etc most likely will indicate this 'ho-hum' attitude. I hope this is not being signaled to our recruits. We have plenty of room for great players on this team and early playing time will be assured for each and every one who comes to Lincoln.

For me I say "Go Big Red!" Support and encourage and fight to the end of each and every play until the final second ticks off.

Well I for one haven't been counting down the days to the game like I do for a new season. I expect a similar game that we have experience all year. Play good enough to keep it close. Then whatever happens at the end....so be it

Ucla is seriously depleted by injuries and other factors. NU will be as or more talented
So what I hear you saying is that a win means nothing, but a loss would mean WHOAH!!

And with Nebraska's clear talent advantage, that loss could only fall on one man's shoulders.

I don't believe the Bruins are better than Wisconsin, MSU, or Iowa. The Huskers will keep this a close one. Good Tommy needs to play well. Defense needs to keep them under 30 and we'll see what happens.

Lean on Cross and Jano. Eat the clock and keep their O off the field. Minimize the reads TA has on specific passing plays. Run TA a lot. And then some more.

Is UCLA more talented? Probably. More speed? For sure. We just need to play mistake and TO free football and we should win. If Rliey and Langs listen to this board and lean on the run. TA throws more than 30 times we lose. Better athletes/worse athletes won't matter....

This is the recipe for a win. UCLA fears TA's bility to run (http://www.latimes.com/sports/ucla/la-sp-ucla-football-20151224-story.html). Newby is out, so lean on Cross and get Wilbon out of the witness protection program.

So, the game plan they should have used all year? Lets hope so!

i think this is also an opportunity for these coaches to gain some credibility in their game planning/management and play calling.....that will require some changes from their past strategies......we shall see.
