Question about the not-called facemask

If the refs had thrown a flag for the facemask on TA on the play where he fumbled, what would the result have been?

No fumble and add 15 yards to where he was tackled?

Nebraska would've gotten the ball back. Because Nebraska was inside the 30 yard line it would've been half the distance to the goal and an automatic first down.

2 horrific calls in that game - the non-face mask and the Gerry targeting penalty. I guess if you play in a 2nd class bowl you get the officiating to match. It could have cost us the game if UCLA had turned those around into TDs.

That facemask was pretty blatant. I'm not sure how the refs missed it, it's not like that's the sort of crap they are supposed to be looking for.

They did turn the first one into a TD. 2 play drive.
