Lane Hovey transferring to Montana

I always liked Hovey, and wanted to see him get the ball in space a little more. Deceptively quick guy.

That is a real classy letter, and I doubt they are trying to show him the door. He definitely contributed on this team and would have done so this year also. He may have just been ready to move on to something new. Montana is a quality 1AA program that makes the playoffs every year.

 
He was a guy who should have gotten a scholarship to some FBS program out of high school. But I don't think he had any offers, IIRC. He was totally under the radar, given this size and speed. Was an awesome get for our invited walk-on program. Sure wish he would have stayed. I wish him the best of luck.

 
Has anyone considered that he might very well be transferring to Montana because they have a better graduate program in his field of study? At this juncture in his collegiate career, a better grad. school should be a much higher priority than what team he plays for.

 
Really, i think this is a good move for him. He could put up some really good stats there and possibly get a better look from the league.
