Why do we only expect 5 innings out of a starting pitcher..? That's not what good baseball teams do, even in college. Or am I wrong?

It's the first start of the year, for a guy who's making the transition from the bullpen.

This early in the season, it's common for the starters to only throw 70-80 pitches.
