Ranking college football's 2015 coaching hires, one year later

Saunders

Heisman Trophy Winner
6. Mike Riley, Nebraska (4) -- 6-7, Foster Farms Bowl win vs. UCLA

Breakdown: Nebraska had a weird year. If you charted the percentile performance of the Cornhuskers -- what percent of their potential did the team perform -- the results would be all over the graph for the season and occasionally erratic within the course of a single game. There were stretches where everything clicked and then awful moments that directly contributed to close losses. Nebraska could have been four wins better, but for a team that would have missed the postseason at 5-7 to get a bowl win against UCLA, I don't think there's much to complain about at the moment.

This quote. It's spot on. Weird year. Just weird. Let's not repeat it.

BUT THIS IS BRASKA! We deserve trophies in year one!

I see ex-Badger coach Gary Anderson was #10. Thought they would have done better than a 2-10 record at Oregon State, but that's what they did. Article also says that next year will be a better indicator...

Gary Anderson inherited a program on the severe decline with Oregon State. There were no QBs on the roster when Anderson arrived. This statement doesn't have any impact on how Riley will do at NU, but Riley got out of Oregon State at a good time for him. Riley would have probably been fired after the 2015 season. He's lucky that Eichorst gave him a golden parachute with the NU job.
