I don't know for sure, but I would guess that Gretna has to be knocking on the door for Class A just due to the housing boom out there. This is not in any way a knock on the guys we're looking at/offered, but if the best players currently in the state are from Aurora, Beatrice, Ashland-Greenwood and Gretna, that's not speaking very highly of Class A ball in the state.
Last year the Huskers offered three in-state guys and only one of them played Class A.
Kind of. They are #5 in Class B but they are over 100 kids from being Class A.I don't know for sure, but I would guess that Gretna has to be knocking on the door for Class A just due to the housing boom out there. This is not in any way a knock on the guys we're looking at/offered, but if the best players currently in the state are from Aurora, Beatrice, Ashland-Greenwood and Gretna, that's not speaking very highly of Class A ball in the state.

But considering all the athletes available, plus the advantages of competition, specialization facilities and training, that's a pretty glaring lack of production.
I know Elkhorn and OPS are both looking to add high schools. I wouldn't be surprised if Gretna builds a second instead of going Class A when they get to that point. It is a big selling point for a lot of people. It's headed that way. But I think I heard that Elkhorn has plans in the works for another high school so they can all stay Class B. I don't think I made that up, anyway.
