Recruiting to the East?

Is that one of our major expansions or focuses this year in recruiting or are we just getting that much more national attention? Seems like we got a lot more players further east interested in us this year... Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, etc... I like to see we're going in there and hopefully nabbing some of the Big 10, Big East, and ACC talent.

 
yeah its not that far east, but further east than we ever got except for Florida... next year we will probably be stealing recruits from states like Alabama and Georgia :blink:

In the 80's and 90's we usually snagged one a year.

Mike Rozier and Irving Fryar were the two from NJ that rocked the most. Can't think of any others off-hand

Dailey was a decent athlete placed at the wrong position. He never should have played a down at QB in D1. Would have made a fine WR at some mid-major.

As for real players, the Peter brothers came from NJ also. And man, did they rock!

 
Jamal Lord was also from NJ, actually the High School as Dailey...

or did you guys know that and just didn't want to bring up the name :madash

Yeah, I had forgotten that Jammal Lord was from NJ. He was a tremendous athlete, and would have made a fine RB if we hadn't needed him at QB. I've always thought that if Jammal had played eight years earlier he would be a Husker legend (assuming Tommie Frazier was not around). jmho

That's most of them....as you can see, I have some time at work.

Some observations:

*Most of these players are from North Jersey

*Besides the immidiate Midwest, New Jersey and maybe Cali lead the way for out of state recruits.

*A greater percentage of New Jersey players came out of Hudson County (inner city, outside Manhatten, NY)

 
There are some real gems on that list. Some of the best players we’ve ever had. I did not know Rich Glover was from NJ. :worship
