Brent Musburger retiring

Brent Musburger is retiring at the end of this month. He seemed to fall out of favor with fans over the last few years, but he was always one of my favorites.

For some reason this was always my favorite Nebraska related call from Brent.

Never could stand Musburger. What with his penchant for creepy remarks about women he's more than twice as old as, and his announcing style essentially boiling down to, "<<quarterback nameeeeeeeeeeee>>, rollinggggggggg, lookinggggggggg, firingggggggggggg, touchdown!"

That's what makes Uncle Brent so great!!! What is wrong with pointing out beautiful women in the crowd?

Also, his minimalist way of announcing a game was great. Sometimes, less is more. His call of the Miracle at Missouri was one of the best play by play calls of all time. He is able to describe the whole play, as it's unfolding, with very few words. As a TV play by play guy, it's best to let the picture do the talking.

I always liked Musburger. Oh sure, sometimes he'd say annoying things. But don't we all?
