Four-Star Recruit
This is totally ridiculous but...

I was looking at the recruiting profiles of the 2017 class of guys who haven't committed anywhere yet. I realize that Nebraska doesn't present a lot of attraction for top tier recruits but at this point in the game how much would it hurt to make a late push at 1 or 2 of the 3 uncommitted top 10 recruits in the nation. I realize the odds of getting one to commit is like as close to 0% as you can get, but at this point, it wouldn't be like we're holding a scholarship back for someone we have an unrealistic chance if landing. I just think there is really nothing to lose by trying it. I know nothing though, just a theory. Thoughts?

Wut?? Have you not been following recruiting lately? We've got a pretty exciting bunch of players headed to Lincoln this fall and next.

So we don't present attraction for top tier recruits, but we should go after the top 3 uncommitted recruits in the nation?

Got it. Timmy is on it!

Yes I have been following recruiting lately, and yea i am excited that we have got some of the recruits/transfers to commit. But I don't think I would consider them top tier recruits either. I'm talking about the guys who step on campus and are immediate game changers(exception of maybe Copeland?). I think that they can definitely be solid contributors in their first year . But the kind of guys who step on campus out of high school and immediately run the show successfully don't consider Nebraska.

I guess I'm just looking at the 3 top uncommitted recruits left by 247sports. None of them have offers from Nebraska.
Sometimes guys have really odd offer lists, like you will see some top 25 guys with only 12 offers.
I got ya. Yea I usually don't really look at those guys cause I really don't give a squak about the dukes, NC's, Kansas etc... and those schools seem to be the only ones who get those players. I was just looking though and thinking why not? Crazier things have happened. I don't understand how Missouri lands the number 1 recruit in the nation and Alabama gets a top ten recruit, so why not at least throw the offer on the table when we have 2 scholarships available. Butbyew typically don't pay much attention to them.

Missouri got their guy because his dad was on the staff at Washington and now he's on the staff at Mizzou

Bama probably paid a lot of $$$$$$ for their guy

Bama has a HC with major NBA ties...it was a great hire for them when it comes to recruiting.
