I wish him nothing but the best. He did a lot for OSU basketball and should be remembered for that.

I read someone say that if Matta coached at Nebraska, we'd be putting up a statue of him RIGHT NOW. Too true. He's been amazing for the Buckeyes. We've never had a coach remotely that successful.

Why don't they add Popovich and Kerr to that list since it is full of guys that will never take the job or even interview for the opening. Hiring Billy Donovan would be great just for the gator tears alone but I doubt it happens. If OSU and Matta parted ways months ago, they probably could have gotten Archie Miller.

He wouldn't be my first choice since he hasn't been a successful head coach at any level. This is a top 15 coaching job that won't be easy to fill with a top 15 caliber coach since it is June. I would have to image that Smith has someone in mind if this happened now.
