There are no metrics with any of this data, so we don't know, for example, how strict Nebraska's policies and administration of those policies is compared to any other school they're reporting on, but we could conclude a few things:

Nebraska's policies are more strict than other schools' AND/OR Nebraska is more firm in administering those policies than other schools AND/OR we have the most drunken, belligerent fans in the Big Ten. Or it's any combination thereof.

2016 Stadium Ejections, Arrests and Incidents From Big Ten Fanbases

NEBRASKA

Nebraska's incident count was the highest of all Big Ten schools polled. The majority of them involved — you guessed it — alcohol. The Cornhuskers police force liberally used what they call "The Bridge," which is described as a civilian, non-profit alcohol and drug treatment facility that functions as a detox center for intoxicated persons in the short term.

Basically, if someone is too drunk to know what they are doing during a tailgate or game, they go there to cool off before being sent on their way. In their email response, Nebraska said The Bridge is not affiliated with jail time and is not considered an arrest.

Of the 238 occasions where police were involved, the force sent the patron to The Bridge 122 times. Roughly half of the incidents included Nebraska students with the Minnesota, Oregon and Purdue games having the highest numbers. If a patron was not sent to The Bridge, other courses of action included HBO (Handled By Officer) or TOT Responsible Party. A person could decide to leave on their own, their friends and family members took care of them if they were too drunk, or something similar.

My RA was sent to the bridge for 13 hours during the Wisconsin game two years ago lol. Tried to bring a water bottle full of burnetts into the game.

It may very well be some combination thereof but I'm pretty sure we can rule out being the MOST drunken, belligerent fans because....Wisconsin. Guessing with their penchant for things like the "eat sh#t f#ck you" chant that maybe, just maybe, they don't have near the level of enforcement we do. I don't think we routinely get praised for our hospitality by visiting fans due to being out of control dickwads.

Yeah, I definitely think it's the first two, not the last option.

Certainly we have our share of drunken, belligerent fans. But I think our LEOs do a really good job of stopping trouble before it gets started, and that's what this data actually reflects.

Minnesota: 306,000 people with access to alcohol inside the stadium. 11 ejections. 0 arrests. Over $1M in revenue.

Nebraska: The Good Life

Anyone ever bring small bottles of booze in? Get caught?
Heck, we would be at Chesterfields in the morning. About 30 minutes before half time, the bar would start selling small bottles to take to the game. I had one once and actually was drinking it as I was walking up the stairs to find my seat. (Yep, stupid college kid). Me and my buddy got kicked out. Spent the game at Barry's....had a great time.

I probably should have been kicked out of the 2007 USC game in Lincoln. I was sitting/standing in the student section and was just all over the place. I think I eventually just sat there in the 2nd half, almost blacking out, before leaving after the 3rd quarter.

No way our fanbase is more drunk and belligerent than Wisconsin or PSU

Most likely the Man wants us to keep our nicest fans label and kicks out all of the rebellious or rambunctious spirits.
