What did we learn-Game 3 NIU

Game planning is terrible.  But otherwise, we just don't have football players.  We have athletes who play football.  And as long as we keep firing and hiring key coaching positions, we will never have football players.

While I don't he's our coach for at few more years and probably leaves when ready, I don't think he names his replacement as a parting perk.

I also learned that 9-3 is a pretty good season.

Tanner Lee is constantly looking for the deep ball when his deep man is NOT actually open. That's the opposite of what a QB needs to do with his deep throws.

I'm also seeing that now that Langsdorf has "his players," his first down effectiveness is atrocious. He's trying too hard to be "balanced." We *have to* run the ball more on first down. We wound up in so many 3rd & 3 situations...and Lee just couldn't handle it. Our O-line couldn't handle it. We couldn't drive the ball against Northern Illinois.

I mean...what in the actual f***? We had two TDs where one of them was a three yard drive.

The sooner that people realize that Langsdorf's offense isn't that great the better.

This isn't anything that isn't surprising considering Riley's history throughout his career, but there were again so many mistakes today.

3 turnovers (2 resulting in TD's)

3 sacks given up, and 7 QB hurries

5 penalties for 48 yards, and those were killer penalties

blocked FG given up

Only 17 points with the offense having the ball for 80+ plays

not really learned but confirmed, SE is 100% a spy sent to us by Wisconsin. It is the most successful case of espionage i have ever seen the dude is a straight up saboteur. 30 for 30 needs to do a film about it.

oh and a lot of fans really dont like wilbon
Nice

I learned what it must have felt like to my dad during the Callahan years.

I learned that my 5-7 prediction is probably right on the money.

I learned that I hate being right.

I learned that I’m getting pretty close to not caring about Nebraska football anymore.
You will find out you can never not care about the team if your all in from day one. It hurts but there is always next week.                                                  GBR!!!

I learned that I am officially done with this staff.

Also learned we're going to be hard pressed to make a bowl game.

Offense -

  • The Nebraska football program is in year 9 of having a liability at QB
  • Where the F is Ozigbo?
  • Receivers are rarely open
  • Blocking inconsistent
  • Stanley Morgan is a Savage Blocker.
Defense -

  • 7 points allowed means nothing.  This offense wasn't good AT ALL.  They are going to get steam rolled.
  • Reed is not good enough to play with one arm
  • Soft coverage doesn't work, but we are going to stick with it.

Special Teams

  • Punt return...WTH?

Overall

  • They just play bad football.  We are a joke.
  • There are enough good players on this team to perform well.
  • I have a similar feeling in this game as did watching Callahan get dismantled by Oklahoma State.
  • I'm done with Riley.  This will never work.  I laughed when people suggested Frost a few years ago.  I feel like an idiot now.
  • Les Miles in the booth....Woof
