Not just NC- overall success. Oklahoma is right there for consistency and success.2000, so 12 years after Switzer. Bryant retired in 1982, so that was.... 10 years? You could argue Alabama wasn't special after 1992, but still, 10 years.
I'm not bothered by that as much as the fact that there's plenty of first and second year coaches in recent years running circles around our program.
Other sports matter when you suck at football. So winning the conference title last year for first time In awhile and getting to the post season 3 of last 4 means baseball is trending down? Wow, just wow. Don't have to like SE, but don't oversell the point.
But we've signed baseball guys from Texas recently.OMG!! How many times has "wait till next season" been written here. We'll have the right type playersnext year, blah, blah, blah.
We have football players. Good, legimate coaches find a way to compete with the talent they have. And we have talent (some at least).
we would be paying two ex coaches an an AD! would still be a bargain..........have to ride this pig out to end of season, then find a new coach,HuskerPowerVA said:It is a success driven industry. Eichorst failed during the last coaching hire and then while giving him an extension. He needs to be held accountable. Fire the AD now and MR is officially on the hot seat (as opposed to just the fans being upset) for the season. When the next coach is hired, it needs to be a big splash, but few names will be available during the season anyway. Even after the season, how does a new hire occur while still paying Bo and MR. However, the AD should not be able to tell people to hang in there after botching things to this degree.

All are winning with the other guys players....Riley didn't win with his own at OSU and his retread OSU staff isn't winning with them here....
Had Bo been able to keep Carl and Marvin, things might have been different. He was hired and brought along a bunch of guys with no experience......... He couldnt adjust as there was no "experience" to draw from. Cally was a square peg round hole guy who out together a crap tastic staff. Riley brought the apple dumpling gand from OSU. And people bought into the he'll do better with more......That's like saying a sh!tty driver will do better with a more powerful car.....
Hire a guy with a proven system. A guy who has won at a lower level.
This board, prior to the hiring of Riley, had great names. All successful, all with a definite system, all proven winners...We hired Mr Rogers because he's the nicest friggin coach in America. Listen to people talk about him. Nice, great guy, friendly,......But nothing about winner, driven, systematic in approach, prove etc....We hired a friggin .500 coach and thats what we got...

Not defending Bo. I've said from the beginning Riley was never hired to win. He was the anti-Bo. Sadly, both have given up blowout losses, both have divided a fan base. Neither were/appear to be incapable of restoring the order. Bo did great with Cally players, whom Cally couldn't get to play. Riley looked great at recruiting, but a few misses for 2017 left it lower and 2018 isn't here yet. I'm guessing some of them will never make it here, making the once stellar class average.Bo was a complete jacka$$, though, and couldn't recruit a 3rd-team punter. He's a large part of our current problem. The Cornhuskers were considered as a classy place to go before Pelina stunk up the place. It was during the Pelini tenure that we surrendered recruiting to boosters and helicopter dads.

We we just need to capture that magic in a bottle. Get the coach who can finally put all phases of the team together. I haven't seen a complete 4 quarters from NU (from both sides) since I can remember. We have hurt ourselves as much, if not more than the opponents....
