What did we learn-Game 4 Rutgers

Ozigbo is a good back, but seems to me to get winded easy.  Granted, he runs hard, and runs thru contact hard, but always seems to me to have to come out after a good run.  Takes himself out that is.  I think he is not playing because he is not in shape.  I think Wilbon is good fresh too, but they seem not in shape to me.  Football playing shape that is.  Ive got wonder about every aspect of our program right now.  We seem out of shape, not as strong, and just not physically in condition.  Is our Strength and Conditioning not what it should be as well.  This also affects all of our programs as well.  Baseball, basketball and others.

didn't we see this when Ameer was here and some other backs?.....maybe the coaches don't want to keep a winded RB on the field for the next play? i dunno what all is at play here? but i sure like Ozigbo.

Because Ozigbo's 4.2 YPC 0 TD totally smoked Wilbon's 5.6 YPC 1 TD yesterday? :dunno
Wilbon with 24 carries and 90 yards last week against UNI, 3.75 YPC

Ozigbo with 24 carries and 101 yards against Rutgers, 4.2 YPC

Equal amount of carries and Ozigbo did better. I like what I see more with Ozigbo than I do with Wilbon.

Because that's TOTALLY an apples to apples comparison, right? I mean, it's not like you just compared their performance against two different teams or anything!

Oh wait...

are you really comparing the line from last week vs. the line from this week?  Seriously?
Wilbon 3.75 YPC vs Ozigbo's 4.0 YPC against UNI what now?

Im sorry that me liking Ozigbo more than Wilbon is affecting you

Does it really matter though?  Our offensive mind set is to pass the ball 70% of the time.  Use the run for play action.  We are so predictable.   Just wait for our next game and see if we continue with our trends.  We do have good enough running backs to run 70% of the time and pass the other 30%.  Instead we will give Tanner 70% chances at throwing to the other teams instead.  Interceptions are going to happen, but his are so predictable the defender is at full speed intercepting and running the other way for 6.

I learned that this win might have exposed the team even more than the two losses.

Rutgers was set up for Nebraska to right the ship, but even given a modest 26 passing attempts and generally solid run support, Tanner Lee was terribly inefficient. Going three and out to end the first half and start the second half was inexcusable, given what this team needs to prove. Diaco seems to be making the right adjustments. We're complaining about which of three pretty solid running backs deserves more carries. Those are things to build on. But you know....Rutgers.

The ceiling for this team appears to be low. I'm not sure why they'd be the favorite in any game left on the schedule.

But then I saw the team wildly celebrating on the sideline in the fourth quarter. Players congratulating players who made good plays to lock up a 10 point win against a Big 10 doormat. And I realized I could and would root for the Huskers like I always do.
