Re: the search. I like this. I think the biggest thing I want is someone with connections. I want someone who's navigated a few major hires.

According to Mitch Sherman he was contacted but pulled his name from consideration:

"He reportedly told his staffers in an email on Wednesday that he had been contacted by Nebraska's search firm and asked to interview — and that he turned down the opportunity."

Considering he's proved to be below-average at best in hiring football coaches, I'm voting no.

If that is the best thing you can say about a hire...you made the wrong hire...unless you work at the Bunny Ranch...in which case that person would have been fired for the very same reason.

This is honestly a good thing that Trev will not oversee the football program.  Just because you are a player doesn't mean you have the skills necessary to run a football and athletic program.  Just because you can play guitar doesn't mean you can teach band.
