The Omaha World Herlad's & former Cornhusker Adam Carriker interviews former Nebraska strength coach Boyd Epley.

Topics include:

  • How our new strength coach Zach Duval is brining back the original "Husker Power" way of training.
  • Insights into how the previous staffs trained.
  • A story of just how powerful Scott Frost truly was during his playing days...and how he still is!

Boyd Epley: Well Scott Frost, I don't know if the fans realize how powerful a quarterback he was. He hang cleaned from the ground 300lbs for ten reps, which led the team, and he was the quarterback. That was amazing. He really was like a linebacker playing quarterback. Very physical.

How exactly does someone hang clean from the ground?

I was wondering the same thing when I first read it. He might have misspoken, and could have meant the power clean.

The hang clean and power clean are similar exercises.
