My thought process is this: there aren't enough 3 point shooters on this roster to compliment what it has in terms of being able to drive the ball. Palmer and Watson can drive the basketball, but there isn't a shooter on the roster that can either hit a shot when the defense collapses on a drive, or keep a defender honest and give the driver a lane. Nebraska also doesn't have a Big that can control rebounding in the lane in that type of an offense. That isn't as big of a deal unless you've got a transcendent talent like Bagley/Carter/Ayton down low. 

 
I think there are plenty of capable (35+%) 3 point shooters on the roster: 

Allen (35.4%)

Copeland (36.9%)

Roby (40.5%)

Thor (40%)

There are also guys like: 

Palmer (30.9%) - this percentage is lower based off of the type of 3's Palmer mostly takes. Almost all of his are off the dribble/pull up three point attempts rather than catch and shoot which naturally will make the percentage lower

Akenten (25%) - known as a shooter in high school and this will probably improve 

Watson (29.1%) - serious regression last year without the ball in his hands. I wonder where he fits moving forward and to be honest I wouldn't mind him coming off the bench as I think Allen pairs more naturally with Palmer than Watson

The main problem is that we don't run an offense that utilizes catch and shoot/corner threes. We do a lot of dribbling around the perimeter with our dribble weave until someone eventually jacks a tough shot. We also have approximately 0 bigs that can pass or do anything on offense besides put backs or be a black hole once they get it on the block. If you've followed the 2018 recruiting class at all you'll know that isn't changing anytime soon either. 

If Nebraska did a better job of spacing and ran an offensive system that consistently reinforced ball movement and only shooting 3's and layups this team would be exponentially better. Michigan is a great example of a team that spaces the floor well and moves the ball to maximize the amount of "good" shots. Nebraska should strive to run an offense more similar to theirs rather than what we are doing now.

 
Who is our best 3P shooter under Miles? Such an achilles heal if you pair that with not having a good big man. We are basing our full game on driving to the basket and playing defense. 

You can't just go by % for certain guys who only shoot 1 three per game. Andrew White probably, but a short career here. Pitchford was initially then dipped hard like Watson did. Gallegos was supposed to be our specialist but only shot 30% career. Talley probably #2. Sad

I agree that better shot selection could help the team's 3-point percentage big time.  As a team, Nebraska shot 34.6% from deep.  If they can get that closer to 38-40% they can be a tourney team next year.

Also, a little context on your percentages, here are total 3's made for the year:

Allen = 17/48

Roby = 17/42

Thor = 2/5

Akenten = 2/8

I don't think any of these guys had enough 3-point attempts to know if they can be a good 3-point shooter at this level or not.  They very well could be.

this is fair criticism. It doesn't help that 90% of the offense is dribbling and standing and waiting for JPJ or Watson to make a play.

All really intriguing choices.  Altman getting hired would be hysterical and would also jack the Nebraska/CU rivalry to new, exciting levels of hatred.  I've espoused plenty on my love of Musselman.  Martin is a junkyard dog and knows how to max his teams out.  All 3 would be quantum leaps over Miles.

 
Already hearing Altman may have turned down our love/money offer. Onto someone else or give a 1 year extension to Coach Miles.
