Unpopular Opinion

...  Kansas IMO is the only true American Prog Rock  band of the era.  There first Album is great.  Journey from Mariabronn is a song I listen to a lot.  One group that I never got into was The Moody Blues.  Also a big ELP fan.
There was this bar in Norton, KS. that my high school buddies and I used to drive about an hour to back when their drinking age was 18  and we could drink 3.2 legally...The locals kept saying, ''You should've been here a couple years ago...Kansas played here all the time''...

Cool, there is a really good documentary about Kansas that they show on AXStv every now and then.  It is hour and a half long and talks a lot about them playing the small town Kansas bar scene in the early 70's.

I watch that Dan Rather Big Interview show a lot.  I really enjoy that type of stuff.

I liked Rush much better before the heavily synthesized  stuff . 2112 , Fly by night , Moving pictures , Permanent Waves etc I really enjoyed, but they  kind of lost me after Grace under Pressure . Neil Peart is a top 5 drummer all time , Geddy and Alex are very good musicians  too . YYZ shows off their talents pretty well I think  .

Several years ago I introduced my college aged son to some Zeppelin  , Rush , Old Metallica etc and for my birthday he took me to the Rush concert at the PBA 2015. Good concert and great moment in time .  :)

They lost me with their 80s stuff as well, but 2112, Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves are fantastic albums. Moving Pictures is a classic, and deserves to be mentioned with some of the all-time greats.

Bonham and Peart were my Favourites when I was growing up...But I also loved my parents' (Buddy) Rich vs. (Max) Roach LP...Now my favourite Drummer by far is Robbie Borden followed by Danny Carey and Joey Jordison

Buddy Rich may be the best of all time.

I've liked every Miley Cyrus song that's been on the radio since Wrecking Ball was released. Her "crazy" period is when she started to make better music. It's still pop, but I digress.

Is this a trick cuz I’ve never heard a Miley Cyrus song on the radio.

Of course I never listen to any radio stations that would play Miley....

My Dad always thought so...I still remember Ed Shaughnessy playing at my big brother's highschool (Holdrege) when I was a 1st grader and My brother had a solo in Jazz Band...He was Johnny Carson's Drummer for the Tonight Show for a couple dozen years and at that age, I thought he was Buddy..

I was just thinking the same thing about Justin Beiber and Timberlake today...I might have forgotten to mute a few Superbowl Halftime shows in time to not catch a partial song from them, but who else gives them airplay?

J.K Simmons's 'jazz nazi" character in Whiplash was just too over-the-top for me to take the movie seriously.
