O/U Win Totals: 2017, 2018

It would seem to me that there is a difference between correlation and causation here.

Almost certainly. Would be funny if not.

It's likely a result of other teams seeming more favorable. It's just really, really odd to see such a correlation between QB health and wins.

6 is respectable for a team that only defeated in conference Illinois, arguably the worst BIG TEN team, and a Nebraska team that had quit by then. They failed to score in their final two games.

At media day Fleck was basically telling folks not to expect much. Perusing their sched I'd put them at 5-7 again and take the under.

They played a fair number of youth last year and had a good recruiting class....but that QB situation is still an absolute mess. Even though they have some experienced pieces here and there, youth plus questionable QB is a hard combination to win with, and he more or less just said as much.

Damn Maryland jumped to 5. I was thinking about putting down on them at 4.5. If it weren't for all their injuries they had at QB last year they would have had a nice year.

Over.  This team can win 7 games this year, will need no less than 6 home wins and a win at NW.
