I think maybe they were being sarcastic saying it was a competitive game. The good thing about not playing is Colorado has nothing to look at.It was not competitive. The Colorado State defense was beyond bad.

The football team has been staying in a hotel as long as I can remember. There used to be a hotel over on East Campus where the team would stay when I was in school (mid 90s). More recently, I think they have stayed at The Cornhusker, but they could be staying somewhere else now.A couple of the players (Foster, and Gifford or Stoltenberg I think) mentioned staying in a hotel the night before. Makes a lot of sense, eliminates a lot of wild cards like over sleeping and getting in to trouble the night before. Anyone have some more details? Where do they stay? How early do they go to the stadium? Do they walk over from the Marriott or bus in from the Oak Tree Inn? Do they still eat at the training table? Just curious.
Could you imagine if they didn't do this? The issues that could come up would be legendary. The football team has been staying in a hotel as long as I can remember. For home games, I think the team will meet at the football facilities Friday afternoon/early evening for dinner. They will then go to a movie as a team, and then spend the night at the team hotel. The team will have Saturday meals at the hotel, so the hotels will need banquet facilities. I think the team buses get to campus/stadium 2-3 hours before game time, but I don't know the exact timing.

Correct. If Akron truly wanted this game to happen on Sunday, it would have. The football team has been staying in a hotel as long as I can remember.
