Noah Vedral now eligible, traveled to Northwestern

Wow... could’ve used him vs Troy.

I think you still only use him in 4 games, unless more is necessary
I was thinking it would have been nice to know this 5 weeks ago.  I hadn't thought of him still using the 4-game redshirt for this season, but it's a good point.

For sure.

I mean the only way he should play more than 4 is if their is an injury.

On the other hand, with Martinez and the eventual pipeline of hand picked QB’s maybe it’s not that important to save husbands RS?

It will help to have Vedral around for the next 4 years.  He seems perfectly content being the backup QB at Nebraska, so there wouldn't be a worry of him transferring.  Plus, if he's an effective backup, that will enable McCaffrey to redshirt in 2019 (or be used at another position).

Good point about Vedral brought up by Sam McKewon on Twitter.  He probably won't even be the #2 QB this season, but he would be a good option if Martinez were injured and Bunch is ineffective.  But, if NU were in that situation, I don't think NU would be competitive in a game at that point.

Vederal needs to be the immediate No. 2 man. If he gets a chance to play, we should get him in there. If he is a solid No. 2 guy that just makes the depth chart a lot more secure.
