Longest FG this year for Adi?

What's the longest field goal Adi will make this year?

52 yards I say. But I think he has the leg for more.

Let's try a 60+yarder for kicks next time we're up by three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. I don't think anyone would care if he missed it.

Actually, when Alex Henery was in high school, I saw him come up just short of a 70-yard field goal.

I'd say only as far as it takes for him to make an extra point! Because we're not gonna need field goals...every score is coming from touchdowns!

I knew Henery had a big leg--but wow! I saw Henery when Burke played North a couple of years ago. He's a great punter too. :)

I'm gonna say he's already kicked it @ 46 yards. I don't see us stalling out that far away and either 1) not go for it or 2) pooch punt one. All about field position......

I could see going for a long field goal right before half. I'll say 58 yards.
That's one scenario that could happen..... the other would be at the end of the ballgame to win it -- or tie it up to get to O.T.

I'll say 57 yards (line of scrimmage at the 40 yard line).

if he can hit the big fgs, the really important game saving kicks, the longest kick is not that big a deal. if you can get a college kicker who can hit 80% inside of 45 yards, you really got something!

Kicker Adi Kunalic committed to the Nebraska football team last November.
Several weeks later, he knew for certain he’d made the right decision.

“Let’s just say I was at the Cotton Bowl,” Kunalic said, “and that last field-goal (opportunity), I was like, ‘Why are they not going for (the field goal)?’”

Kunalic, of course, was referring to Nebraska’s 17-14 loss to Auburn, when coaches bypassed a field-goal attempt of roughly 47 yards late in the fourth quarter. The Huskers failed to convert on fourth-and-11.

That’s when Kunalic knew Nebraska needed his help.

Kunalic, a 6-foot, 175-pound true freshman, said he’s comfortable attempting field goals as long as 65 yards. Junior Jake Wesch, with whom Kunalic is battling for kickoff duties, said Kunalic has been successful from 60 yards in pre-practice.

“With plenty of room to spare,” Wesch said.

2007 OutlookPlace-kicker Adi Kunalic is part of an impressive class of seven Husker recruits from the state of Texas, the Huskers' largest haul from the Lone Star State since 1989. Kunalic is the only kicker in Nebraska's recruiting class.

Before Nebraska (North Crowley HS)

Kunalic comes to the Huskers after a standout prep career for Coach Mike Papas at North Crowley High School in Fort Worth. Kunalic attempted just six field goals as a senior for a 3-7 North Crowley team, and connected on four of those attempts. He also nailed 29-of-31 extra-point attempts. Kunalic owns a powerful leg, which allowed him to boot 22 kickoffs for touchbacks during his senior season. Kunalic also served as the team's punter and averaged nearly 40 yards on 46 punts, with a season-long punt of 72 yards.

As a junior, Kunalic had more place-kicking opportunities for a 9-2 North Crowley squad. He connected on 7-of-9 field goal attempts, including a pair of field goals from better than 50 yards. Kunalic was ranked among the top 20 kickers in the country according to Rivals.com and was listed as a two-star prospect by both Rivals and Scout.com.

Personal

Kunalic was born on June 1, 1989, and is the son of Meho and Ivana Kunalic. Adi chose Nebraska after also taking a visit to Washington State. He also received offers from Miami, Kansas and Utah among others.
