MLB 2019 Season

I wonder how many Toronto Blue Jays fans there are in the state of Nebraska?  I remember being excited as a kid to find a hat (difficult pre-internet) and purchase a Fred "Crime Dog" McGriff Upper Deck figurine.

6 walks after an inning and a half so far for Yu Darvish.     Cubs still up 3-1 on the Rangers.  El Mago's 2-2.

75 pitches for Darvish tonight in 2 and a half innings in his 2019 debut.  7 walks.  Gave up a 2 run homer.  I actually feel bad for him looking at him sitting in the dug out with a 1000 yard stare.

Wilson Contreras.  3 for 3 tonight with 2 doubles...

Kyle Schwarber goes deep for the first time this year.  26 for him last year.  Cubs up 5-3.

Our pitching is a disaster. Why the heck didn’t they make some moves with it in the off season?

BRB I do not claim to be a professional baseball GM but this was my biggest worry going into this season!  We've got to have better pitching to keep up with the bats that we have.

9 hits and zero runs for the now 1-3 Cubs in a 8-0 shutout loss to the Braves tonight...  6 errors by the Cubs.  Hendricks got shelled.  Gave up 10 hits with 2 of them being homers in just 4 innings tonight.  :o

Not good.

As a Cardinal fan I feel your pain. Our starters have been mediocre at best 1 time through the rotation and the "improved bullpen" blew a 4-1 lead in Milwaukee. The team that wins the Central this year will be the team that puts together some semblance of a decent bullpen and/or their starting pitching carries them. I'm really wanting the Cardinals to make a push for Keuchel or Kimbrel at this point.

naw, that's the ra. after giving up 13 to the brewers last night they have a sparkling 7.85 era. and they have given up 59 runs in 57.1 innings. that is just unreal but it is very early in the season.
