21 years ago today - Troy Edwards sets an NCAA record against... Nebraska

I was at this game. We won comfortably, but watching Edwards go up & down the field on our defense was very uncomfortable.







Edwards finished the day with 21 catches for 405 yards and three touchdowns.

He scored on plays of 52, 94 and 80 yards, and had another TD called back for holding.

Edwards would make a big catch. Edwards would run his mouth to the Black Shirts. The Black Shirts would point to the scoreboard. Rinse. Repeat.

I remember the temp being in the 90's and hearing Troy Edwards' name on the radio over and over. I thought something was wrong with the station.

I was at this game too.  It was one of the most impressive displays against a Husker team I had seen in Memorial Stadium.  Us having a comfortable lead made me able to sit back and admire the display.

The world learned a powerful lesson that day. You can’t stop Tim Rattay, you can only hope to contain Tim Rattay.
