Just a little patience

So what you are saying is, not only does Mike Riley suck, but he sucks so bad that whenever he leaves a place, it is left beyond repair.

He trashed Nebraska so badly that a great coach like Scott Frost can't fix it.

He trashed Oregon State so badly that a good coach like Gary Anderson couldn't fix it.

He trashed  the San Diego Chargers so badly that a good coach like Marty Schottenheimer went 12-20 his first two years afterward.

The first time Riley left Oregon State...Dennis Erickson is the only coach in the world who was able to have success following Riley.

So in other words, @ZRod wants NU to hire Dennis Erickson.
Yeah sure, that's exactly what I said

Your original comment was a bit elitist/condescending. You have to understand that Husker Nation is pretty big; it's in all 50 states. This is an internet message board and so you've got a lot of people outsideescrending? of Nebraska that post here.d
The comment where I said it doesn’t make you a better fan whether you go to games or not was condescending?

Just think, you could be a Syracuse, Tulane, Kansas, New Mexico, (etc.) fan....

Perspective...

Did any of them have a thirty year run, through two amazing coaches (of different styles but quite successful in their own right) of dominance?   After all, that is what this angst we all feel is really about at the core.  Those programs you list have no such legacy to live up to.

Thats the point......

No we aren't. We are more like Tennessee than anything. Don't make me pull out the statistics.

You realize Frost has to talk to the media 3 plus times a week right? What is he going to talk about, the weather?

Unless you know the stats off your head, you think a casual college football observer can tell a huge difference between these three resumes?

5 seasons of on field results don't make us Minnesota. Fan support is in a different league, recruiting is pretty different, resources are different. We are a far better program than Minnesota still and we would be for another decade of mediocre football. I'm not niave enough to believe that will last forever, but right now we are still a much better program than Minnesota.

We have more people pay attention to our program and we have more money. Our program is more culturally powerful. That's about it. 'Better' is defined largely on the field.

And on the field we have been similar to them for the past 5 years, not much longer than that. Thats not a big sample size there. Maybe better football team is defined on the field but you are delusional if you think we don't have a better program. That includes all aspects.

That stupid GNR song keeps popping into my head now because of this thread.  Thanks walks.

Good to see you back btw.   :thumbs

Yes I am aware. I have lived in AZ for 27 years. I believe we have season ticket holders in every state except Delaware or something. Quite a stat.
