Good stuff from Dirk here. I think he raises some reasonable questions that should be on the minds of Nebraska fans right now.

No panic, but reasonable questions.

I can't read it but by headline alone this is why we ended up with Callahan and Riley. From the outside Nebraska fires 9 win coaches and questions coaches after a season and half.

The start of Scott's tenure hasn't gone the way many thought or hoped, but he's universally regarded as a great coach. Almost everyone knew this was a massive rebuilding project. If we for some reason ran Frost off a legit coaching prospect would never consider Nebraska again.

The failures of this team fall in part on Frost and in part the players and prior staffs, but Frost needs his contract played out. If he doesn't fix it then that's probably just where Nebraska is at.

I have no doubt Frost can fix this and as painful as Saturday was Frost needs to get the chance to figure it out.

You guys haven't read it, but are jumping to conclusions. Dirk never said Frost wouldn't do it, or couldn't do it. He mostly said that Frost's own evaluation about what this team was going to be in 2019 was way off, and he suggests that it's reasonable to have a little doubt going forward when Frost makes his bold statements about the future of the team. It was a completely reasonable article.

Not going to pay to see the article, but Frost will get at least 5 years to turn things around.  It is disappointing to see this team play much worse than the team did in the last half of last season.  Hopefully, we can get two more wins, but we are going to have to start scoring points again.

Then this is just irresponsible journalism. He wrote a head line that makes it sound like the support for Frost is waning and stuck it behind a pay wall.

Look, I think Frost is the man for the job and the complete return to relevance will take longer than most of us will want. However I’ve been less than overwhelmed by him as a complete Head Coach thus far. There have been multiple times that he’s been out-coached on Game Day & for all of his “no fear of failure” talk he usually is a waaaay conservative play caller.

The good news is,  he’s bright & he cares & has good support from people like Moos & Osborne.  I also think there is more need right now for him to adjust to the B1G than there is for the B1G to adjust to Frost’s Nebraska. Own that.

Yep. It's completely possible to believe Frost is our guy, while also questioning what he's done so far.... If anybody else was 8-11 to start their tenure, we'd be ready to run him out the door.

Frost is the man.

The BIG will take time to figure out what with the arctic temperatures and mastodon lines but I don't want to be the best of the also-rans and be a team that just tries to be competitive by becoming a plodding bunch of giants while the few Texas size schools have their way getting all the talent

We'll regroup..
