Yes.
didn't know of a better place to put this.

Do you want higher taxes? Because that's how you get higher taxes!I’m currently on a very comfortable train going between Dusseldorf and Munich Germany. Travels about 150-180 mph.
I really wish the US would develop mass transit like this.
even free WiFi.
Not necessarily.....depending on how it’s done and if Americans would use it.Do you want higher taxes? Because that's how you get higher taxes!

Come to the east coast - Acela gets me to Boston - NYC - DC in quick time - wifi, bar car and more.I’m currently on a very comfortable train going between Dusseldorf and Munich Germany. Travels about 150-180 mph.

Gasp - SOCIALISM!!I think you’re poking fun.
But I’ve had this conversation before. If higher taxes meant nice roadways, clean air and water, available healthcare, better education, reduced homelessness and addictions, efficient public transportation, and a safe community, YES. I want higher taxes!
Agree to an extent. The family is very important. But do kids have a better learning experience in a class of 10, or a class of 30? Are kids more successful when a variety of electives are available like industrial tech, music, and art? Do kids learn more when curriculum is up to date and technology is accessible? These are money problems.More public transit would be cool but I do wonder how much I would use it?
I still think, on a smaller scale, that a train from Omaha to Lincoln would make a killing during the week and on game day.
Better education is great but that has nothing to do with more money, it has everything to do with the family.
Not necessarily.....depending on how it’s done and if Americans would use it.
Americans are in love with their cars though.
it would cut down on the need to keep expanding air travel and ultimately might cut down on interstate road maintenance.
It was mostly tongue in cheek. Although if we actually wanted to focus on an infrastructure revolution (I just coined that team #trademark) it would take a significant rearrangement of revenue and probably increased taxes somewhere; whether that's income, corporate, or consumption.I think you’re poking fun.

Public schools have tons of money...what they do is spend it wrong. It was mostly tongue in cheek. Education and infrastructure are the two biggest things I would like to see us invest in. Every candidate pays them lip service, but rarely does anything to support them They will require significant contribution from the government but in the long run they would likely pay for themselves. It puts more money in the hands of the middle/working class (the people who actually stimulate and drive the economy), and it creates a better environment for commerce. An educated population is never a bad thing, we've seen the effects of cutting funding for education. It's time to correct that mistake.
@teachercd I think it's six of one half dozen the other. Yes, you need the family to support children in order for them to truly thrive, but you also need a safe and clean place they want to be during the day. You need teachers who care and are duly compensated for their time and effort. And you don't need stupid things like banning them from prom or field trips because they went into debt just to eat lunch, or defunding failing school (that's just idiotic). Education needs to be a priority again.

6 asst superintendents in a district making 200 large each? What, why?
Curriculum specialists in each building making 6 figures? Why not just offer that role to the department head with a stipend on 10K...You have like 6 departments in a school, you just save another 40k.
Teachers leaving teaching to run and hide in the admin building with titles like "Head of PE Currc" . Nope...axe it.
I would love more money, but it won't make me a better teacher, it will just make me enjoy looking at my bank account. Just like if I got more money for coaching it would not make me a better coach.
The banning from stuff is sort of whatever, that really doesn't fall under the education part in my mind. If it is a money thing, that is lame...if it is an a$$h@!e thing, I am fine with it.
The people running it are nuts.
Ed classes are comical!More $ probably wouldn’t make people better teachers, although there is an argument about keeping the better ones happy, but it would attract people who are smarter and better at teaching.
The education classes I took could have been aced by almost anyone, and they were.
I don’t need a class on why I can’t get a boner.Ed classes are comical!
