Just listening on the radio.....our dagnabit defense really......really sux because of bad play calling. Sounds like they actually made tackles this game, so there is no one else to blame this week. Cosgrove can't coach, plain and simple. I am tired of his sh#t....he isn't living up to the Huskers Defensive Tradition!

After today I have no more reservations. I humbly submit my call for his resignation/firing. I would prefer that this change happen immediately, so as to at least allow us a small glimmer of hope in competing the rest of this season. The only thing we can guarantee if he stays is many, many losses this season against teams with a lot more to offer than Ball State. Anyway, more on this in my recap.

I still think we have hope and I still think we'll win the North, but I have finally come around. I'm jumping on the "Fire Coz" train. I won't jump on the "Fire BC" train because the offense is doing a DAMN good job and the recruiting is at an all time high, but the defense is abysmal.

That was awful. It probably looked worse than it sounded, too.

 
I agree with TX. There is nothing wrong with the offense, 40 points on the board, it shouldnt have been a game. But after defending Coz for the last couple seasons, I am not firmly aboard the fire Coz train. 600 yards. Gave up 40+ in consecutive games. Blackshirts need to be stripped this week as well.

 
i think all the people who were formally opposed to firing Cosgrove, including myself, really have no logically argument now..

Callahans doing his job though, offense hasn't really been stopped yet this year

Yep. I can't defend Cos anymore.

I'm still cool with Cally except that part of his job is to hire the rest of the staff. he nees to make a change.

Callahan can send a strong signal to the defense by taking all the blackshirts away. Its obvious the team didn't follow Bowman's lead. It needs to come from the top, not Coz.

I know you guys are angry, and rightly so, but is there a precedent somewhere in D-1 ball for firing the DC in mid season and that team turning things around by year end? I don't know. I'm just asking the question.

The tackling wasn't great, but it was better. Dillard laid the wood to a few people. I'm not sure I believe all the hype surrounding Asante being a big hitter. McKeon was pretty quiet. Brandenburg played well. Octavien missed a tackle or 2. DB's got scortched. D was bad. Only time the D played well was at the end of the game when they were on the 5 or so going for a 1st down. We held them to 3 which kept the game at 5. That was the only time they looked like they played with any fire and emotion.

I was against firing Coz, but I as well have to buy a ticket on this train......................FIRE COZ!!!!!

And don't just give them back in a week - make each individual player earn them back. Hell, there might only be 2 or 3 guys with blackshirts at the end of the season.
