NU at Kansas Tickets available

OK, read this email that I just received from our local chapter with a plea from the 'U' to get rid of remaining allottment. When is the last time EVER in modern history that the 'skers turned back tickets for ANY game?

Come on down despite the jacka$$ Hawks that shoved it back in our face two years ago...they haven't played anyone this year trying to pad their record. Or we can say 'stick it' and your $75 price tag you are trying to gig us...

Personally, I have two points...I bought my tickets for $54 each from a KU supporter not knowing NU was having difficulties selling our estimated 4000 share. Heck, there have been numerous times I've been in that stadium of 40k + where at least half were wearing RED. I see a bad omen beginning to form on the horizen. If we don't sell out a road game of 4k then when does the streak end at Memorial?

Point Two: What message will be the target of on every football board in the conference if we TURN TICKETS BACK? How do you flamers that visit other schools' boards to start fires feel about that? You know who you are and it's time to put your money where your mouth/keyboard is.

Off the soapbox...GBR

The Nebraska Alumni Association notified us that they have tickets for sale for the Nebraska at Kansas football game in Lawrence on November 3rd. They do not want to return them to KU. If you would like to purchase tickets for this game please contact Julie Peterson at the Alumni office at jpeterson@unlalum.nebraska.edu or by calling 888-353-1874 or 402-472-4219. You do not have to be a member of the UNL Alumni Association to get these tickets.

I would be all over it if they weren't so overpriced. I'm probably just gonna take my chances in Lawrence.
If we don't sell it out have Pedey send a note back with the unused tix that we are tired of getting ripped off. We don't charge those kind of prices when KU visits NU :woo But I sat in the KU section in Memorial Stadium last year and it was pretty red clad.

Maybe the KU fans will find out we have extra tickets and go to our alumni association and buy our extras!

:lame

OOPS...I forgot. I checked KU's athletic department website last week when putting together our tailgate and learned KU still had a lot of tickets left too...but that was before the bandwagon started leaving the station after whipping 'sisters of the poor' last Saturday so they have their swagger back now.

Seriously, after NU beats Mizzou then the KU game could be huge for the NORTH Championship and $75 per ducat will be a bargain. I couldn't find tickets outside the stadium two years ago thinking I could pick up a couple at face or lower. THEIR bandwagon gets bigger and bigger as the season evolves.

Two years ago, the NU Alumni ticket allotment was selling for $50...... so, why is there a 50% increase since '05???

Quite simple they are asking $75 this year....two years ago they got it in a sell out and noticed the scalpers outside the stadium asking for and RECEIVING more.

But time will tell. Maybe their MBA Economist that does the 'war vs butter' analysis over estimated the amount of 'butter' Nebraska fans will be willing to pay leaving the business community to declare

'war' again against the Athletic Department for all the dollars travelling Nebraskans USED to spend in their community.

Remember the KU athletic department is already under an intense amount of criticism for moving their Mizzourah home game this year from Lawrence to Arrowhead. The ADept was guaranteed a $1M per year payout for moving the home and home series for a couple of years to KC.

Mangino's $1.5 million per year salary, perchance?

EDIT: Makes me wonder . . . a buddy and I were going to try to go down there and scalp . . . should we just buy in advance? It'd be a lot less fun, but maybe way more economical . . .

Mark Mangino had already signed the $1.5M/yr contract two years ago. It's quite simple, KU is attempting to take advantage of Husker fans (like ISU did with Hawkeye fans @ $90)!

Supply & demand will tell the 'real' story......

Maybe that would be a good way to send a message to Harvey that consequences are still possible..That some fans really aren't happy with Pedey.

Otherwise..The fans don't seem to have much of a voice without endangering our "last streak" thing.

I don't think the fans in Nebraska will allow that streak to ever end.............

IDK, there could come a time that the sell-out streak ends.... hope it doesn't happen, but it very well "could" happen.

I don't either, but then again..I cared a lot more about it last month than I do now.
