Why the D-Problems

Coz went away from the basics and tried to be too cute in the preseason.

He tried to play with a few new looks rather than spend the time wisely.

He should have just installed the Base 4-3, a few Blitz packages and a couple differant coverages. Than add in his Nickle or Dime plus a Prevent. Than add on from there depending on what you are going to face each week.

By doing this he could have also spent more time developing the fundamental skills at each position plus tackling and angles of persuit. The D-Line is new and definately needed this. The LBs are experianced but still could have used the work, especialy scraping off blocks. Coz should of known this was going to be needed with the new DL. The secondary has improved but again could get a lot better. Not only in coverage but in run support.

Basicaly Coz wasted valuable time trying to get fancy.

I think sometimes that everything we do is too fancy.................we should dumb things down a little bit so it's not so dammed confusing. Just play football not chess.

Alright mods and admins this is the same guy that was in here acting like a :asshat a week ago!!!! Can we please ban his stupid a$$ again so we don't need to hear his bandwagon bull$hit.........

The defense just needs to get their fire back and I think you will see that if we get some guys on the field that don't normally see alot of playing time although they have the athletic ability to be out there.

I disagree on Jones being out there because I saw him get burned so many times against Ball State, but the ball was either dropped or throw just out of the receivers reach.

 
Yeah, you're right

Maybe give Blue or Murillo a shot instead of jones

But using this scheme would get fast blitzers to the QB...you coul easily blitz Thenarse and grix from each side and still have enough to cover everyone
