Tailgating

Besides the reserved lots around the stadium that cost $1000 apiece, does anyone know where people can tailgate before the game? I have friends coming to see ISU play and are used to the Ames atmosphere of tailgating. Can you do it right in the street or parking garages?

Personally, I go to the bars... but I want these fans to have a good time cuz their team is going down!

There is a lot across from the stadium under the overpass (dirt). Use Google Earth to see it. You will need to go through the Haymarket area to get to it. Last year for the CU game I paid $25. You will have access (very short walk) to the port-o-johns that reside in the expensive membership lot that is even closer to the stadium. The amount of space is limited so get there early.
