I don’t want to think about losing to a 2-3 team that is down it’s best players + 32 others.. This next half of football is critical for the program.

 
Probably already been said, but sadly this looks too similar to the Illinois game. 

Team looks unprepared, not executing enough, and Scott being outcoached again and poor game management. And unfortunately looks like were getting Adrian Hyde instead of Andrian Jekyll.  

Minnesota doing nothing special. Just not shooting self in foot.

If you're going to be on the Politics forum constantly, you should actually post there. Because that's clearly where you spend most of your time on this board. I am almost never negative in the football forum. I thought Pelini was gonna beat Wisconsin his last year here and was still supportive until almost the last minute. I'm really only negative about politics.

  • The swing pass to the halfback needs to be scrapped. I get what Nebraska is trying to do, but we just can't execute this play, and it is costing us drives. They would be much better off going back to using the Speed Option.
  • Smart use of our TE's in the 2nd quarter. Offset and using as a lead or kickout blocker really helped open up our running game. Makes you wonder if a lead blocker works so well, why not use a Fullback?  :dunno

  • The targeting penalty in college football is garbage, and I'll say it...It's ruining the game. Make the rule a 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty and move on with no player ejections.

Things I'd like to see in the 2nd Quarter

  1. Build off those sets using the TE as a lead blocker. Establish the running game, sprinkle in some read-option and then hit them with play-action.
  2. Find a way to get pressure with the defense either with some stunts or mix up our zone blitz calls like we did against Perdue.
  3. Be willing to play a little more Man Defense even with Cam Taylor-Brit out of the game.

Great points.  I agree.  Sadly, we won't see any of them.....They will stick with "what's working".  "We are only down by 3"......

It's my impression that there's a feeling by some on this board that if we were to pursue a good passing QB who can make those throws (say maybe Mackenzie Milton), it may cause embarrassment and hard feelings among the other QBs.  Therefore we should just stick with what we are doing and wait for different results.  Insanity be damned!

It's crazy how many of my friends and family over the years who would not miss to watch a Nebraska game, have lost more and more interest. Because, it's the same s*** every damn week. No discipline, poor coaching, poor QB play, and terrible referees.

For those following football, losing to Minnie in their condition, is a death blow to this program....No way they should even be within 2 scores if not for our coaching and bone headed plays....

I've complained about the coaches' mask wearing exactly 1 (ok maybe 2, I have a bad memory - but that was not in the football forum) time this year, and it was today. Get a new obsession.
