Bourbon, Whisky and Scotch

I wonder how it would be in cooking.

I do whiskey reviews with a buddy on his YT channel ( he just dropped this review today:)

That's usually considered when we grade them as "cask aged spirits" or "brown spirits".  Laphroaig would probably work best on beef, like a thick steak.

Picked up a few bottles yesterday:

-Jameson Distillers Safe

-Jameson Blenders Dog

-Mitchers Bourbon

-Bookers Bourbon

Which varietal of Michters did you end up grabbing Redux?  I love Michters stuff so hopefully you have a good experience as well.

Update on Michers: Super duper smooth Bourbon.  Not invasive or overly hot and spicy.  Great sipper.

Also tried these last night, some for first time:

-Makers Mark

-Makers 46

-Makers 101

-Makers Store Pick The Still

-Evan Williams Single Barrel

-Elijah Craig Small Batch

-Larceny (absolute trash)

-Soldier Valley Rye

-Bulleit Bourbon

-Bulleit Barrel Proof

-Bulleit 10yr

-Wild Turkey 101

-Wild Turkey Rare Breed

-Jameson Distillers Safe

-Jameson Blenderw Dog

-Wellers Antique 107

-Mitchers Bourbon

Very nice variety there, Redux.  Haven't heard of Soldier Valley, but familiar with the others.  I have not been impressed with Larceny either.  And Mitchers is top notch for sure.

You tried all those last night? How effed up were you?

I've had two of those, Makers and Bulleit Bourbon. Bulleit is what I have at work for "those" days.

Apparently my tolerance has grown since becoming a snob.  But these are also just samples in glencarin glasses.  Enough for a full taste but not enough to get you s#!tfaced.  Though after that many I shouldn't have been able to walk.

If you like Bulleit Orange label, definitely grab Bulleit 10yr
