***The Nebraska Defense - Blackshirts 2021***

Oh, I absolutely see progress,  just wanted to point out that no matter how good or bad Wiscy is, they are guaranteed to put up unreal rushing numbers against us.
Is that the same "guarantee" that we put up 62 points every time we play Florida?

Yep, same exact thing as against a school we've played twice in 50 years. What are you even talking about?

Here are the Wisconsin rushing stats against Nebraska since we joined the Big Ten:

Carries/Yards (YPC)

2011: 50/231 (4.62)
2012: 41/56 (1.36)
2012 (2): 50/539 (10.78)
2014: 53/581 (10.96)
2015: 34/147 (4.32)
2016: 38/223 (5.86)
2017: 49/353 (7.20)
2018: 48/370 (7.70)
2019: 45/320 (7.10)

Total: 408/2820 (6.91)

313 per game average over 9 B1G games,  and almost 7 ypc over a decade.  That's pretty much guaranteed.  There was an NCAA record given up in there also (check out the number of total number of carries for a reminder).

Imagine that Husker Power with Oregon speed! :D   I knew it was bad, but seeing it laid out like that we truly struggle with their running game.  Take out the 2012 (game 1) and they were at 7.5 yards per carry.  Thx for putting that together.

And the second time around in 2012 was against the default Leaders champion due to 1/3 of the division was ineligible for postseason play.

Interesting stats.  I really wish we could have played them this year.  We started off the year against OSU and held them to 215 yards rushing.  In that game, both our line's looked better than they did last year.  I was really looking forward to see what we could do against Wisky.

Given our history I understand the laugh emoji but I was also curious. If there was a year to take a step forward, even just to prove to ourselves that we can slow their run game under ideal circumstances it was last year.

Wisconsin's Season YPC

2018: 6.2

2019: 5.4

2020: 3.9

They had a very good running game against Michigan, good enough against Minnesota, and not good in the other games. I am worried about next year when it's less Groshek/Watson and more Berger. We missed them the year they didn't have a consistent stud back, and I expect Berger to seize that role next year.
