Frost has run the QB way more than he should out of necessity.  There was literally no one else on offense last year.  He fumbles at a higher rate than he should, but that's partly because he was asked to be the entire offense.   Can't win games like that either now can ya?

Chill and let's see how this year goes.  What have we got to lose?

Surprisingly= Martinez and Frazier have averaged about the same number of carries per year- 130. Taking out the year Frazier missed. They averaged about the same number of carries per start. 

A triple option offense with a pitch you would THINK would be riskier and there would be more fumbles than what we are doing now. That wasnt the case.  Zone read and designed QB runs are what we are running now- MUCH safer than triple option. Unfortunately our guy leads the nation in fumbles. We just CANT have that this season. You cant make the excuse hes carrying a bunch more than Tommie, because that just isnt true.

I don't recall mentioning Frazier at all.  Completely different teams and circumstances.

 Mostly true. However Bos offense was definitely a higher risk offense under Tim Beck than what we have today. Taylor Martinez was a turnover machine and Ameer had his issues. But our offense under Beck required a ton of reads and plays we just dont have today. Beck was an innovator and good play designer- maybe not the best coach but very good play designer.  Sweep read/inverted veer was one of our best plays, power read and then of course zone read. How much reading do you think was actually done? I've come to the conclusion that the majority were called and not read or many bad reads were made. :-(

 I stand corrected- you are correct- MOST were not read well or Taylor predetermined on his own. Yes a handful were optimized- called- with an optimized blocking scheme. I knew one of the analysts really well and he said Taylor usually guessed and guessed wrong more often than he was right. GREAT play designs though- sweep read/inverted veer was my favorite play from that offense. There is a reason Urban took Beck as an offensive coordinator.

You said "He fumbles at a higher rate than he should, but that's partly because he was asked to be the entire offense."  You have to have some kind of comparison to say "higher than they should" and is the "entire offense" -When in reality Frazier and Adrian carried the ball the same amount and Frazier did in a MUCH higher risk offense. 

The facts are Adrian LEADS the country in fumbles lost- that is much more of a problem in us losing games than "he fumbles more than he should"

Unfortunately you cant penalize him by benching him, he is our best option. Weve not recruited or developed QBs well by any reasonable standard.

Why not compare it to contemporary QBs that run a similar offense to him. You also are talking about him leading the country over a 3 year span in which very few players started as many games as him. He hasn't led the country in a single season ever.

I am comparing him to contemporary QBs who run spread offenses. He LED THE NATION IN FUMBLES LOST comparing him to those guys.

If you think we are going to be anything other than a 4-5 win team with Adrian being as careless as he is with the ball- fumbling and interceptions- youre sadly mistaken. You cant have the focal point of your team doing what bad teams do- beat themselves. 

Unfortunately our coaches are complicit

What did we do first play of the spring game? Try and throw a lateral double pass? Not what we need to be about to win in the BIG.
