Dramatic Mid-Season Firing?

Not dramatic in my opinion.

It should be expected. I will actually be surprised if he remains head coach tomorrow. If so BC, his staff and the AD will be gone by the end of the year.

well after today...sadly, i don't think it coulb be any worse
Ya no $hit, what exactly could go wrong? Would we lose the ability to score points all together, or lose the ability to keep teams under 40 points and 600 F**KIN yards? Hell, what is Doc Sadler doin in the evenings?

Probably not. We only have 5 games left. Up until now I would have bet only Coz and a couple defensive assistants would go, especially after our AD just gave Callahan an extension. But at this point anything can happen.

I don't think it'll happen, but at this point I have to admit I'd be pleased if it did. I guess Watson or Gilmore could take over the offense, but who would we get to step up and be DC? I mean just about every one on the defensive staff needs to be replaced.

Matt Perault on Big Sports 590 just made the comment that we can't do anything until Pederson is gone because no good coach will work for him. I think he's right. I think we need to ride out the rest of this seaon and then get rid of Pederson, Callahan and staff.

Good points about Pederson having to go before things can really get back to where they need to be. He is so polarizing and bad for Big Red football. And does he have the only call-in show in America that doesn't allow phone calls? How chickensh#t is that?

Good point. Shouldn't we have seen the writing on the wall when Houston Knutt refused the job? It wasn't because Nebraska is a bad coaching job, hell it used to be one of, if not the best, coaching positions in the country. No-one wants to coach under this :asshat AD.

Dramatic? Yes. But sometimes a dramatic gesture is needed to stop the problem from spinning even more out of control.

This would at least signal the seriousness of the situation is recognized and tell the world that the issues will be resolved.

But it has to be Petey and BC together at once.

I think the only people that think this are Husker fans. I don't think the coaching circles or the nation believe this. I have a hard time believing any "Big" name coach would touch this job right now with or without Pud. Unless they have ties to the program.

I find it funny that everyone that Pud reportedly talked to about this job sucks too. Wandstead, Nutt, give me a break. We don't need someones leftovers, we need a smart, savvy, fire-filled assistant/up and comer. If we do make a coach change, we better not be checking the unemployed coaches line. Lets steal someone.

The only thing I'm wondering is, who would we have as the intern?

I suppose watson would be the best choice.

and if Callahan's fired then Pederson's leaving with him, no matter what they'll both stay or both leave.
