Did BC give up?

but from the stats it looked like BC wasn't even coaching to win, or even make the score respectible. Were down by 17, 24, 31, 38 points and still running???? If that is true --> I hope he never finds another job again. That is bush league bull sh#t. Like he is trying to screw over the fan base for not supporting him.

The only other explaination is that he has quit on Coz and knew our defense couldn't stop them so he was just trying to minimize the damage. If that is true, have some f'ing balls and can Coz right now. This is bullsh#t and gotta stop.

It should be clear that the players don't want to play for this coaching staff. They appeared to have given up last week.

There was no passing game to speak of anyway. I think we only had 2 plays over 20 yards. There were, what?, 3 interceptions. An inopportune dropped pass early that would have been a first down followed by an OSU drive for a TD. The team basically could do nothing right. The only bright spots were Thenarse putting on an inspired hit, Castille and the 2 good kickoffs in the 4th.

I can't give you a verbatim quote, but in the post-game show Callahan came right out and said he was running it in order to keep the defense from being out on the field all day, since the D was getting killed on 3rd down and couldn't get off the field.

Not his exact words, but close enough.

Nice - I'm sure that motivates the players. We aren't going to play to win anymore; we are just playing to not get killed. Wow, I'm inspired already.

None of it mattered anyway. The game was lost in the first quarter with mental errors and uninspired play. There were holes in the defense big enough that I could have gained yards. There was no way we played to keep the score from looking worse. Maybe OSU played to keep the score from looking worse but we hardly played at all.

By the time we starting running well in the second half, it was apparent OSU was trying to play a little back to prevent the big play. BC's attempt to bring a positive out of the second half rushing attack is dumb IMO. I have no idea why we couldn't pass more on an OSU team ranked 116th in the nation before this week...
