O-Line

Bill Callahan would never come back- no matter if he was the top paid OL coach in college football. He thinks college football is beneath him- he didn't like having Tom Osborne as his "supervisor". I seriously doubt a now very rich man wants some youngish unproven guy as his new boss at a place that sent him packing.

For his first game out, Teddy Prochazka had the highest overall grade on the line at 71.2 and he led NU in overall run-blocking with a 70.8 grade.

After scoring a 12.0 pass-blocking grade at Michigan State last week, NU improved to a 78.0 this week. Their 75.3 run-blocking grade was the best mark overall of the Scott Frost era.

Hopefully so. Michigan is truly impressive in their front 7. 

Callahan said last night that Teddy is a different guy. When Teddy went to a Nike Camp in East St Louis-  the belly of the beast as a skinny 10th grader, that he totally held his own. He was VERY confident and mature. Callahan was very descriptive- he was there. 

In HS obviously he was way bigger than anyone else, but that actually made i it harder for him- little guys sliding under etc. Now against guys much larger he is doing even better. I always loved his aggressiveness and finishing in HS- he gave no mercy. Hopefully he will be up to the task.

If Benhart uses this benching to his advantage and motivates him to figure it out, can you imagine an oline in the future of:

LT - Prochazka

LG- Nouili

C- Jurgens

RG - Corcoran

RT - Benhart

Not sure if Corcoran would be happy sliding to guard but he did well at the All-American game at that spot.

If, they would all play up to their potential, that would be great.

 
Nouili said he started "thinking in English" about 18 months ago or so. While he has always been very fluent in English- it has to help him out.

HCSF commented along the lines that just recently Nouili was finally figuring out some of what they were trying to teach him.  

He came in very raw and even started at CSU as a true Freshman. He has a lot of potential.
