Student section this Saturday

Flatout24

Three-Star Recruit
I know's there's a few of you who don't want Pelini back but I definately think your in the minority. SO let's get the student section going this Saturday just like in the Alamo Bowl...."WE WANT BO!" If we can get it rolling and on the news I think it'll definately make a statement of what Husker Nation wants & deserves!

By the way, I could care less what Callahan might think---as far as I'm concerned what better way to send a message not to let the door hit you in the butt. Personally, when I watch him on TV now I just think he looks lost and completely out of his element.

Your attitude is destructive, and it is a very large part of the problem. May I suggest a hobby?

If T.O. and the rest of the athletic department feel a change needs to be made they will make it.

We don't need to do that as fans, we need to SUPPORT OUR PLAYERS!

his attitude is destructive..... but has little to nothing to do with the problem with the team. I would say this to flatout. relax, TO is in charge. he will find the right guy for the job

Oh sweet. Maybe this will work as well as all the swell "blackouts" our awesome students section has tried to put on previously...

Lets keep it classy! And hopefully, even if we are losing, people stay for the entire game and show that we are behind the program. We know T.O. would like that.

Whatever the student section wants to be enthusiastic about is cool with me. Passion rocks.

It's their school. As an alum, I'm a bit saddened by people belittling blackouts or whatever else the students might want to cheer about.

It means they care. That's what we want.

I agree as tempting as it would be to do that lets show TO some respect and let him make the call without pressure. Besides, he already knows who the fans want. The order is being restored one day at a time. :bonez

EXACTLY. I don't consider it being rude at all, it's passion and we should have a voice in what happens to our university.

This is football and the touchy feely stuff is getting old. Don't get me wrong, I feel deeply for these players but suck it up & play the game...that red N on the helmet means something!

Husker Football is the hobby of the vast majority of people on this board - including myself.

:yeah

Instead of shouting "nothing" why dont we show our support for the team by staying in the stands the entire game, reguardless of how were playing. Im sorry but I havn't been to a game in a decade. I live half way round the world and don't have very good access too watch the games. I show my support every weekend by blowing up my 8' little red, flying my NU flag and watching the games on Gamecast/Podcast. I came back to the states for the first time in 4 years and I made it a mission to go to lincoln and see the stadium. I was lucky enought to run into Nunn and Davis in the TO center. I was also lucky enough to tour the stadium for the first 15-30min of practice.

The point is there are alot of other things that can be done while being there and the next time you thing about doing something that is questionable towards the players ask yourself. If Eolt and I were reversed would he be booing/ranting at this team or would he be thanking god that he gets to see one more Husker game before he gets shipped off to Iraq. Just think about it and let me know what I would do.

Problem, what problem? If caring, showing excitement and having passion about what's gonna happen to our program is a problem then we are in trouble! haha

One of my old roommates and I had this discussion over the weekend. He thought everyone was being a fair weather fan because so many left at halftime during the Okie State game. I had to remind him that probably less than 10% of the time did we ever stay at the game much past halftime when we were in college in the mid-90's. We weren't fair weather fans back then when winning by 40+ points. We were just thirsty. If it's okay for the fans to leave early when we're up by a lot of points, why isn't it okay for fans to leave when we're getting beat by a lot of points? I don't get the fair weather fan kick in the junk here.

As one poster posted on here a few days ago, it's better that the fans are leaving early than simply sitting there booing the entire time isn't it?

Hmm.. Pelinipedia? I guess if 75% (so called majority) agree it must be right. Just like Wiki...

The better idea is to enjoy the game, cheer, be loud, have fun, and show some respect for the team. Why kick a man when he's down? Cally will be gone. Be a grown up about it.
