Why did Fran go for two?

Yeah...three TDs...

and practicing for 2's in the future...

...I know this was labled the buyout bowl and was considered a toss-up......

I never bet against UNL...its one of the few hard and fast gambling rules I have because I love Nebraska more than almost anything.....but aTm was a lock today....theyre still a pretty good football team despite last week's loss to TT.....

they are in contention for the B12 south....UT is near worthless....OU looks suspect every week (I still say they lose some more games with a fresh QB no matter how good hes been in some games)...even though Fran's in trouble....they're tons better than us.......

They have contreversy swirling and are still a good team....we have contreversy swirling and are awful right now...

1) I totally disagree with the call to go for 2. I hated that call.

2) My understanding is they don't do it in practice, and wanted to see how well it would have worked.

3) I want to reiterate I hated the call, and I'm glad Fran is pretty much gone.

Will he still be gone if he wins the Big 12 and goes to a BCS Bowl. I would think after last year beating texas in austin that this year the aggies wouldn't lose to texas at home. I do think the aggies can win the big 12 south and probably the championship game.

I agree...and I'm not even one of those option fanatics....though it is fun to watch....

In the 4th with 4:30 left in the game, up by 20...why would aTm go for 2? Was fran just trying to be a tool or what?
I thought it was very classless. No way were we going to score 4 Tds. It didn't make any sense other than he had a card that told him to go for 2 if they had 36 pts.

Quit whining, nobody feels sorry for us, thats what we deserve when we schedule Ball St., Nichols St., McNeese St., and we always play a couple more home games than road games, next season we play 8 home 4 road, I hear fans talk about a good schedule next year, let me guess we are so nice we want to give smaller schools a payday cuz we care so much. Teams like CU always play tough schedules, if we give our selves these nick names and talk about restoring the order we shouldn't be scheduling so many patsys and after the Nevada game we ask if we think we will tear down the goal posts when we beat USC.

No problem. For some reason aggie and NU fans have always seemed to get along just fine and always end up buying each other endless beers.

We both have the same problem with grossly inept coaching although I'm convinced Fran is K. Rockne relative to our Callahan. Anyways, the best of luck to TAM and let's hope we'll both rebound soon.

:dumdum

we had the #12 toughest schedule coming into this season.

I don't know where colorado was on the list. Not in the top 25 I know that.

I'm sorry but nevada isn't a terrible team, that is a solid game to start the season

and Miami of Ohio.... they are just SOOOOOOOO much better than ball st. sheesh

not to mention Montana State

don't be ridiculous, If you are a buff fan, be a buff fan and don't refer to the huskers as "we"

You can't compare schedules with CU, anybody who knows college football knows CU ducks nobody and always plays tough schedules. Montna St. was only the second D 1 aa team CU has played ever. I'm a husker fan but I respect Hawkins, one program is moving up and ours is still going down.

Makes no difference...a D1-A school should never lose to a D1-AA school. That is probably the most embarrassing thing ever. CU will forever have that tag. Just ask Mechicken. :)

I just could never imagine TO or Solich doing it....but then again, no one would have done it to them, either--not even Switzer. I just think there was too much respect given.

I recall a NU-KU game a few years back when Tommy O was coaching, I remember it being something like 70-0 and good ole' TO went for two.

Maybe it wasn't quite 70-0, but I do remember it being nowhere near close.
