Before the CFP expansion it might have made sense for Aranda to come here as being in the BIG West would provide an easier path to finishing in the top 4 CFP teams than being in the BIG 12 (or the SEC East when there was speculation about him going to LSU).
However, with 12 teams making the CFP there will be 1 or 2 BIG 12 teams each year that could make it in which Baylor would have a good chance of doing.

LOL Aranda isn't coming anywhere near Nebraska.
He got his team to a Big 12 championship last year. There are more opportunities for him to keep winning there, especially with OU & UT leaving. And his backyard is a recruiting hotbed. Life is good. Life is great.
Why would any coach (or person) give that up, for an opportunity to TRY to rebuild Nebraska? It could be a painful, failing task that takes 3-4-5 years to get them kind of good again. Or you get fired. And kiss your next coaching job goodbye.
Yall need to understand and realize, the great coaches and/or the up-and-coming coaches who are getting it done (and happily) are not going to jump ship for Nebraska.
No Aranda, No Fickell, No Campbell, No Leipold, No Whittingham, etc, etc.

MJ still gets his audition. But why not Meyer? Can we not have nice things here? We were once excited about getting Fred Hoiberg and thought we could not pull that one off. Yeah, I get we might have buyers remorse on that one. But for Pete's sake, we cling too tightly to our dignity and illusions.

For the most part Husker Nation would be more then ecstatic to have him. The only thing thing I've heard negative about him is sample size.
