Shawn Watson

I've been out of the loop the past couple of weeks so I'm playing catch-up right now but how did his play calling compare to that of Callahan's? How did the players react?

Yes, Callahan did say Watson would be on the sidelines again this week. Let's hope he doesn't have play-calling responsibilities taken away during the game.

Well I heard on the radio by Matt Davison that their first TD drive in the game was most effective b/c the plays were mixed up well, and that they needed to get back to that. This was said a few series after that drive.

I didnt know the plays were called by Watson in the first half so I didnt get to listen as carefully about the kind of plays as I might have.

Well, we were down by 2 at the half, and Cally called the plays in the second half and we were shut out in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Is it like talking in the mirror when you two exchange comments? :)

Watson definately had the players running just a handful of plays but they had them down pretty well and he kept it pretty well balanced. Then Callahan took control back the last series of the first half for the one minute drill and the offense sputtered. That pretty much foreshadowed the offense in the second half when Callahan went into panic mode and abandoned the run.

There is no way that BC's ego will allow SW to call the plays. At most a series or two in the first half. The second half will be saved for the monumental adjustments BC will make. :bang

If by monumental adjustments, you mean calling plays that make no sense repeatedly.......then yes :boxosoap

Which screen pass do you people not like? He can always go to his three running plays. Why do I fell afraid thats he's going to try his fake punt on his own twenty again this week.

The Watson stuff scares me a little. Dude only had CU's offense rolling that one year. Ya he can likely call plays better than BC but I don't know if that is a huge accomplishment or that we should be pushing him as next-year's OC. But I'd be game for us giving him the reigns for the rest of the season to see what he can do.

At this point anything is better than Cally. As far as him being here next year, i wouldnt count on it. That will be up to the new HC. With the failure this coaching staff has bred, i dont think anyone gets out unscathed.
