Fickle won his coaching debut, a bowl game nonetheless (Guaranteed Rate Bowl), over the Little Sister in Oklahoma (24-17).  Okie Light had such high hopes going into the season and just laid a big turd the latter half of it. The win will be good karma for Fickle headed into 2023 season no doubt.

I would not call it a debut. I read that he provided an advisory role. Leonard was calling the shots.

Yeah, I am with you. I don’t think Fickell was doing much if anything for Wisconsin for bowl prep. It definitely doesn’t count as a “win” for Fickell. 

 
Okie St was really depleted down to third string QB and other key guys out. Wisconsin has two RBs they could ride the whole game.  Sort of a boring game in what could have been a good one if teams were both full strength.
