Thunderin' Bolts vs San Diego

Bolt questions pine tar and legality of SD batter’s bat with 3-2 count… leads to walk but sure got emotions going as batter isn’t happy and let’s Bolt know it on way to first. Next batter singles, runners on the corners with 2 outs

Our pitcher was getting the ball up.  Was like a batting practice.

 
Line drive double scores 2….pitching change with Rizzo coming in and SD adding to their lead. 6-3.  Untimely protest by Bolt as Hawkins was throwing well, but the delay kind of iced our own guy, who struggled after the protest.

 
Huskers go scoreless in the 9th. Drop the opener 6-3. Was a good game until 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th, when SD blew it open with 3 insurance runs.

You were more impressed with Hawkins than I was.  He gets the ball to high in the strike zone. Throws side arm with lack of ball movement.  Maybe just a bad game.

Nope. Not impressed. Agree with you. I never mentioned being impressed with him. I said Olson had a solid outing and that it was a good game until the bottom of the 8th. Hopefully we will bounce back today. Really would like to at least split the series at worst.

 
Late to post….. Huskers trail 2-1 after 5 1/2 innings. Kaminska throwing pretty well tonight after allowing a 2 out bomb in the first. The offense can’t get string anything together again tonight. 

 
Kaminska was dealing in the 6th, then hits batter. Ball goes into right field on stolen base , putting runner on 3rd with 2 outs. Then a single on a 3-2 pitch. This team can’t get out of it’s own way after fielding mistakes. Huskers trail 3-1. Pitching change coming.

 
Ornelas comes into game with 2 out and runner on first and second…. Walks bases loaded, but gets a ground out. Trail 3-1 headed to 7th

 
For the second straight inning Nebraska puts runners on first and second with 0 outs and for the second straight inning cant push anyone across. Clutch hitting has been weak.
