the truth about "larry the cable guy"

huskersue

Walk-on
when it rains it pours. not only was Bill Callahan a complete fraud as a head coach, but larry the cable guy is just "acting" like a country guy. he is a west coast comedian posing as a country boy. reminds me of a certain soon-to-be-fired coach who posed as a west coast offense coach.

judge for yoursef.

WAR SPORTSMANSHIP, BIG RED, AND WINNING WITH CLASS

I thought he was from Florida.

But by all means, carry on with bashing him. All he does is reinforce closed-mindedness within his audience and reinforce the negative stereotypes of Nebraskans/Midwesterners.

WAR SPORTSMANSHIP, BIG RED, AND WINNING WITH CLASS
I posted this a few months ago.

And it was in Florida, not West coast.

I believe he lived in Nebraska as a child. In fact he has a bball court in his back yard in Florida and it is painted with a big N on it. He is a Husker fan and I am ok with him. He has made more money than most of us by entertaining and I for one laugh at most of his jokes. He is funny as hell!

Dan Whitney AKA "Larry the Cable Guy" was born in Pawnee City, NE. His family moved to Florida when he was a teenager. The accent is deep south not midwestern. He has an acreage in Florida and owns a house in Lincoln. He has his own skybox at Memorial Stadium, and he usually invites members of the armed forces up to watch the games with him. The cable guy character was developed in the nineties when he would call in to a friends' radio show in Florida.

Nice high-waisted pants too!

I thought he was from Lincoln?

I knew he lived outside of Lincoln, but I thought he was from Pawnee City...

at least that's where his mom lives...
I thought he was from some town north of Omaha or Lincoln, but you may be right.

"I seen the other day that Barbara Streisand was pissed she didn't win an Academy Award for something. I can't stand that witch. I bet however that if she took her bra off she could win a sag award!!!"

The three (Ron White, for some reason, isn't part of the show) go into some sort of metaphysical/psychic retail store, and there are jars on the wall shelf. Larry points out that there is a jar of "Essence of Mars" and one of "Essence of Jupiter," and that they're both going for $5.00. Larry thought the essence of Jupiter should cost more due to the extra shipping involved.

Larry is a huge University of Nebraska fan (mostly football). Although he's lived in Florida for 27 years, he still calls Nebraska home. His accent is a combination of Pawnee City, NE and his current home near Orlando, FL. He's lived there since he was 16. He's bought a second home south of Lincoln, watches as many games as he could in the past and recently bought one of the new (2006) sky boxes in the North end-zone. He tries to wear some article of clothing (usually a hat) that says "Nebraska" or "Huskers" during every performance.

Larry The Cable Guy (when asked whats the biggest change since his dvd came out): I got a new set of 38 Mickies for my truck. Other than that, nothin', but for God’s sake, ain’t 38 Mickies enough? I don’t want to get too uppity!
