Are We anybody's "Dream Job"?

I was just trying to think about how we get (and Keep) a good coach.

I would imagine if Bo Pellini actually had a dream job, it would be Ohio State after Tressel gets put away.

Turner Gill? Might be us, but he did grow up close to SMU.

I could see Wyoming's Joe Glenn (born March 7, 1949 in Lincoln, Nebraska) might want to retire here after a 10 year stint.

Turner Gill, Scott Frost, Frazier, just about anyone who wants to coach, Rathman, just about anyone who wants to coach who played for or lived in Nebraska.

I guess a better way of asking would be something like having a clause in your next contract that "You could leave at any time to take the NU job" without exacting a buyout.

I like a few of the coaches mentioned in these coaching threads..Just wonder how many would be considered "long term".

One of the reasons I like Gill slightly more than Pellini is his long term potential..That, and his DC.

Any professional coach with any brains would at the very least consider coaching here. Especially with the gig including a chance to work with a man as widely admired as Tom Osborne. Coaches are in general as attached to the the ideas of history and tradition as any of us are. They know this program's background.

Just as a way of supporting myself on this, look at how the national media responded to TO's return to the athletic department. The national sports media had their own TOgasm over it. Overall the pub is extremely positive and they can't wait for the Patriarch of Husker Nation to drop the axe on Cally's neck after the CU game. You can bet there's a lot of coaches out there praying for a call from TO.

This would be just about anybody's dream job. Most of them just probably think they'd never get a call from a program like NU.
